About Asterales House Concerts
Asterales House Concerts is an official house concert series of Folk Alliance International in Chattanooga, TN hosted by local singer-songwriter Teni Rane.
I started Asterales House Concerts because it is exactly the type of space that feels most meaningful and rewarding to me as an artist - I wanted to create a space that musicians traveling through Chattanooga could enjoy as well. House concerts are private events hosted at private residences that allow attending audiences to connect directly with performers. They are listening spaces for artists to share their work and joy with an audience that is present and ready to enjoy a laid back evening. I always open with a few songs to get everyone settled in and then act as emcee for the evening. Depending on our guest, I might even join them for a couple of songs!
While there are no “tickets” to house concerts, we do request an RSVP so that we can plan well for the number of folks attending (see button below). A door donation of $20/person is requested. This money goes to compensate the artists for their time, talent, and energies - if you really enjoy your time with us and value the experience, you are welcome to throw a little extra in the bucket! We accept Cash, Venmo, or PayPal on the day of the concert.
We do have some chairs available for guest use. If you would like to guarantee yourself a dedicated place to sit during the concert, we recommend bringing lawn chairs! The plan will be to use our wonderful back patio for the concerts weather permitting (please no dogs or smoking/vaping). If the weather is not encouraging outside enjoyment, we will transition into the living room.
All events are BYOB and we ask that anyone consuming alcoholic beverages does so responsibly and respectfully. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are provided for your enjoyment! You are always welcome to invite friends, provided they are friends that you would be excited about hosting in your own home :)
Why “Asterales”? Asterales is an order in the kingdom plantae that evolved from a common ancestor and includes a plethora of recognizable flowers and edible plants. It includes the family Asteraceae known for composite flowers made of many florets together. It is my favorite (and the largest) family of flowers/flowering plants. I'd love to tell you more about it at our next house concert!
Anna la mare

Singer-songwriter Anna La Mare (ANuh Lah MAH-ray) blends roots music and Celtic storytelling with Southern Gothic elements to create stormy, poetic Americana animated by her powerful and haunting voice.
La Mare has held international residencies, performed in dimly lit venues, and graced festivals as well as songwriter showcases across the United States and abroad. She took the stage at the Belladrum Music Festival (Scotland), earned a grant from the City of Austin Live Music Fund to produce an album, has played hundreds of shows, as well as wrote songs with greats like Mick Flannery, Terry Klein, Jeff Plankenhorn, and Pete Damore from Ordinary Elephant.
An artist on the rise, La Mare is dedicated to crafting provocative songs and is currently in the process of laying down her first album. Listeners will be invited into her world — one that is deeply personal and universally relatable.
The well-traveled storyteller has been writing songs since she opened the first page of a journal as a child. When she wasn’t falling asleep in the back of the jazz clubs where her mother sang, she was learning traditional American and Celtic tunes on family road trips.
Jenna Greene
July 21, 2026
Music as a means to bring people together is a core tenant for Jenna Greene’s approach to songwriting. Though her songs are deeply personal they find the light in every story, bringing peace to journeys that can sometimes feel hopeless or overwhelming. Her music invites movement, whether physical or emotional, and reflects her deep love for others. This writing style is also displayed clearly in her approach to live music, often inviting others onstage, sharing in talents, and the joy of music making. Jenna uses her musical skills as well as her easy personality to run multiple weekly open mics, as well as special events, where she is sought after for how she can bring any group of people together.
Throughout Jenna’s life, music always played an integral role. Early memories of singing along to Merle Haggard with her dad, as well as his love for bluegrass and gospel shaped her early listening, curiosity, and passion for music. Even at four years old, Jenna was performing a range of artists including Britney Spears to intimate audiences (her parents), and gave each performance her all. Inspired by artists like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Miley Cyrus, Jenna wrote her first song in seventh grade on a Yamaha keyboard. After singing in choir her entire school career and writing her own early songs, eventually Jenna studied at The Blackbird Academy - a professional audio school in Nashville. One of Jenna’s many strengths is her ability to see the value of different approaches. While she is consistently playing live, she also regards recording as a fundamental part of the storytelling cycle.
Jenna has performed Blue Plum Festival in Johnson City, three consecutive years at Bristol Rhythm & Roots, has been featured on WDVX Radio’s Blue Plate Special, as well as opening for alternative country artist Jessica Lea Mayfield. Her current release, Live at Black Fox Studios, showcases Jenna’s seamless weaving of genres, whole-souled style, and authentic vocals. The tracks share a rawness that highlights honesty and the unexpected.
